Last checked: 28 July 2026. This shortlist attributes current product architecture to official manufacturer pages. Smart Home UK has not produced controlled hands-on vacuuming, stain-removal, carpet-wetting or threshold evidence for these models, so the positions below are purchase candidates rather than measured rankings.
This guide answers a narrow question: which current robot-vacuum-and-mop design best fits a mixed UK home? It is not the general robot-vacuum ranking or the pet-hair-only guide. Start with floor type, rugs, thresholds, dock space and maintenance tolerance before comparing suction figures.
Current vacuum-and-mop candidates
| Model | Mop approach | Carpet/threshold context | Editorial position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roborock Saros 20 | Dual rotating, extendable edge mop | Auto-detaching/lifting; verify the home’s thresholds | Premium candidate; equivalent independent evidence remains a gate |
| Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 | Dual rotating, edge-reaching mops | Mop and brush lifting | Current value candidate on paper; compare the complete dock system |
| eufy Omni S2 | HydroJet 2.0 self-cleaning roller | Rug detection and lift functions | Premium hard-floor and mopping candidate |
| eufy Omni E25 | HydroJet rolling mop | Mop lift | Current candidate; manufacturer performance claims need equivalent independent comparison |
| eufy Omni E28 | HydroJet plus detachable portable deep cleaner | E25-class robot platform | Choose over E25 only if the portable cleaner has real household value |
| eufy X10 Pro Omni | Older dual-pad system | Legacy platform | Previous-generation/value comparison only; verify stock, parts and warranty |
Roborock documents the Saros 20 and Qrevo Edge 2 mop, dock and navigation designs. eufy documents the current Omni S2, E25, E28 and X10 Pro Omni. Internal manufacturer tests and headline suction are not used here to declare a winner.
Choose the mop architecture
Rotating pads suit buyers who want a familiar paired-pad design, edge extension and a dock that washes removable pads. A continuously washed roller is a different proposition: clean water reaches the roller while dirty water is collected during the run. Neither architecture guarantees better stain removal in every home. Floor texture, detergent rules, water flow, pass count and maintenance all matter.
E28’s portable cleaner is not an automatic upgrade for everyone. It adds a manual fabric/carpet tool and more equipment to store, clean and maintain. If that tool would rarely be used, compare the E25 robot function and total price instead.
Carpets, rugs and thresholds
Measure every transition rather than relying on a maximum threshold headline. A bevelled single step, double-layer threshold, loose rug edge and deep door bar create different failure risks. Record the lowest furniture clearance too. Test or confirm how the exact mode lifts or detaches mops before allowing a wet robot onto valuable rugs.
Homes dominated by deep carpet may be better served by prioritising vacuum pickup and a simpler mop, while hard-floor-heavy homes can justify more attention to roller washing, edge reach and dirty-water management. Keep a no-mop zone until the household trusts carpet detection.
Who should buy—or avoid—an all-in-one dock?
Buy when there is a level, ventilated dock location near power, clean-water filling and dirty-water emptying, and someone will maintain it. Avoid or delay if the station blocks a walkway, tanks cannot be lifted comfortably, the floor is sensitive to drips, or the home cannot store bags, filters, brushes, rollers and approved cleaning solution.
A dock reduces daily handling but does not eliminate work. Budget for dust bags where used, filters, brushes, mop parts, detergent, tank cleaning and descaling or manufacturer-specified upkeep. Check UK replacement-part availability before buying the robot, not after the first worn component.
Privacy, support and ownership
Several candidates use cameras or advanced sensors for obstacle recognition. Check whether video functions are optional, where images are processed or stored, who can view the map, how recordings are deleted and what happens when cloud access ends. Use unique credentials and restrict household sharing.
Keep the exact model, dock version, serial details, receipt, warranty and consumable list. Prices are observations rather than normal prices; recheck the exact UK basket, seller, condition and warranty on the purchase day. Do not buy an imported water-plumbing dock unless the regional installation and support are explicitly confirmed.
Practical decision checklist
- Map hard floor, carpet, rugs, low furniture and every threshold.
- Choose rotating-pad or self-cleaning-roller architecture deliberately.
- Measure dock footprint, lid/tank clearance and carrying route.
- Confirm mop lift/detachment behaviour for the exact cleaning mode.
- Price consumables, detergent, parts and warranty—not suction alone.
- Review camera, map, account and deletion controls before setup.
