Check the evidence behind SHUK’s UK heating, subscription-free security and Matter/local-control comparisons. Use the interactive checker for a guided lookup, or download the underlying records.
Explore and compare the evidence
Search 66 research records, then compare two or three from the same record type. These are not tested recommendations; different wording is not a compatibility verdict.
Dates matter: the catalogue is v1.1.0. Heating, Matter and historical security/outage evidence remains dated 30 August 2026. Four separate shopping records and the G350 identity correction are dated 6 September. This explorer adds a way to read the evidence; it does not refresh every source. Unknowns are not zero costs or proof of incompatibility. Heating decisions still need the exact equipment, manufacturer instructions and appropriate professional checks.
66 records in six expandable groups. Without JavaScript, open a group and model to read its evidence, sources and reusable card.
Same-type shortlist: compare at most three heating routes, exclusions, security records, Matter hub roles, Matter device routes, or shopping scenarios at once. Mixing those types would compare different questions.
No records selected.
Side-by-side evidence
These records may have different versions, source dates or missing inputs. A highlighted difference is not a winner, a pass/fail result or a like-for-like price saving.

- Controller / bridge / border-router / end-device roles
- Controller: yes · Bridge: conditional; integration-specific, not a universal Matter bridge · Thread border router: conditional; one dedicated ZBT-2 configured for Thread with Home Assistant OS/OpenThread Border Router · End device: no
- Native or bridged route
- Native Matter controller for commissioned Matter devices; other-device exposure depends on the exact integration
- Implementation / certification version
- Home Assistant Core site version 2026.8.3; Matter Server app 9.0 uses matter.js with Matter 1.5.1; updated OTBR supports Thread 1.4; Thread integration remains work in progress
- Required hardware and account
- Green; one ZBT-2 for Thread; a second ZBT-2 if simultaneous Zigbee is required; optional ZWA-2 for Z-Wave · No vendor account required for local core; accounts may be required by selected integrations
- Same-LAN control
- yes for eligible local devices and automations while Green, LAN and relevant radio path remain powered
- Broadband / cloud outage boundary
- Eligible local devices and automations can continue; cloud-dependent integrations do not · Vendor-cloud-dependent integrations fail or degrade; local core is independent
- Infrastructure / power outage
- Loss of Green stops controller automations; loss of the dedicated Thread ZBT-2/OTBR stops Matter-over-Thread reachability; one ZBT-2 cannot serve Zigbee and Thread simultaneously · No control or automations without power to controller, network and required radio adapters
- Recovery evidence

Need the original files or release history? The unchanged catalogue downloads follow below. Sources can change after their recorded dates; see the research method and send a correction with the exact record and source.
Latest release: Compatibility Commons v1.1.0, 6 September 2026. Six datasets contain 62 compatibility records and four separately dated shopping-evidence records, with 154 source records. Release date is not evidence freshness: historical heating, Matter and outage evidence remains dated 30 August. Only the G350 identity correction and new shopping evidence carry the newer field dates.

Turn evidence into a buying decision
The new shopping dataset covers one-device local-recording setups for G350, G410, G400 Wired and E340: listed UK SKUs, hardware, storage, delivery, required extras and unresolved costs. See the camera guide and doorbell guide for the buying context, or use the subscription-exit planner to compare future keep-versus-switch costs.
Known subtotals are not all-in three-year totals. Add hardware, required hub/storage, installation, 36 months of subscription, mandatory consumables and disclosed delivery. Free/core and paid/comparable scenarios are separate; paid quotes, equipment requirements and feature equivalence must be resolved before comparing savings. No exact Aqara/example-card pairing test is claimed.
Read the limits alongside the answer
Rows retain source references, check dates, versions and conflicts. Missing evidence never means a pass or a zero cost. Family-level compatibility is not confirmation for an exact boiler; certification does not guarantee feature parity; local storage does not establish outage behaviour. The historical security dataset has not been refreshed into a new outage test.
This is desk research, not SHUK installation, latency, outage or recovery testing, or qualified-professional sign-off. Use current manufacturer instructions and an appropriately qualified professional for gas, heating, mains, fixed-wiring or EV work.
Changes and corrections
Version 1.1.0 corrects the G350 model suffix from CH-C14DE to CH-C14D alongside CH-C14E using the manufacturer manual. It adds the separate 6 September shopping dataset and row-level version/date/source metadata. The original v1.0.0 release, 30 August 2026 is preserved unchanged, including its documented erratum.
Read the release change log · Follow the Atom release feed · JSON Schema. These record published data changes, not live manufacturer alerts.
Send corrections through Contact SHUK, giving the dataset, record key, disputed field, source link and date/version. See the research method for the evidence boundaries.

When citing a record, include SHUK Compatibility Commons v1.1.0, its dataset and record key, and the relevant field’s checked date. For example, the corrected G350 model field is dated 6 September while its retained historical outage fields remain dated 30 August. A citation is not a product endorsement, professional approval or tested-compatibility certificate.
Reuse licence and attribution
The original selection, structure and SHUK-authored annotations are reusable under CC BY 4.0. Suggested attribution: SHUK Compatibility Commons, version 1.1.0, 6 September 2026. Mark adaptations and retain the licence, source and date context.
Referenced manufacturers’ pages, manuals, trademarks, certification records and media retain their own rights. SHUK’s licence does not relicense that material or imply endorsement. Read the release licence.
SHA-256 checksums for the 15 published release files let you verify an unchanged download. They identify file bytes, not the accuracy of a product claim.
